Shelley Strickland, PhD

Strategic Partner

Shelley Strickland has more than 25 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, as both a practitioner in asset development and strategic communications, as well as a philanthropy educator and scholar with numerous national publications and presentations.

Dr. Strickland has led organizations through strategic change, and designed and implemented programs, materials, and events for greater impact and growth. She has applied her organizational development knowledge to both higher education institutions and community-based philanthropy. She is also responsible for creating the curriculum and teaching the educational course for the University of Michigan Development Summer Internship Program, an award-winning program designed to expose undergraduates to fundraising and philanthropy. Dr. Strickland enjoys training development professionals, volunteers, and nonprofit board members about the joy of giving.

She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan, an MA from the University of VA, and a BA from the Lee Honors College at Western Michigan University.
