Dr. Barbara R. Medvec is Principal for BRMHealth Consulting, LLC which serves to develop results oriented and strategically aligned teams within various healthcare environments.  We focus on developing professional practice, helping nurses and other healthcare professionals work together more effectively, using engaged and expert clinical reasoning, to improve the patient experience. Coaching leaders and teaching them to coach has been a particularly effective method to develop professionals. We also focus on continuous improvement in developing professional practice environments, helping professionals in communication, collaboration, and practice efficiencies through process improvement.

Our work has helped hospitals and healthcare systems build and develop existing and new teams, achieve Magnet Designation status with the American Nursing Credentialing Center (ANCC) as well as coach a series of high potential leaders into new and evolving healthcare roles.  

Dr. Medvec has engaged in healthcare governance as a member of a multi-system healthcare organization, a community health system, a healthcare system foundation (philanthropic) and a home healthcare and mobile transport organization serving in a variety of board of directors’ roles. She has experience in professional organization board of directors and has held a number of past board positions at a national and local level including American Nurses Association – Michigan Policy Board, and the Oncology Nursing Society – Governance Board and Committees. She is a Fellow of the American Nurses Association Advocacy Institute as well as Certified Executive Nurse by Examination (NEA-BC), a certified digital education teacher through the Online Learning Consortium (OLC) and a Certified Coach through the Center for Coaching Certification.
